It started with a simple desire: to heat a home efficiently without sacrificing beauty. We knew what a masonry heater could do, the way it stores warmth in stone and radiates it gently for hours after the fire goes out. But when we looked around the North American market, we hit a wall. Everything was square. Everything was boxy.
We wanted the round masonry heater, a design staple in Europe known for its even 360-degree heat distribution and its softer, timeless look. We searched across Canada and the US, and the only options were angular blocks or metal stoves that cooled down too fast. If we wanted this specific look and performance, we couldn't just buy it. We had to bring it here.
So in October 2021 we founded Canada Masonry Heater Kits, from our warehouse in Saint-Laurent, Quebec. We set out to make the round European heater buildable for regular homeowners, precut and numbered so you don't need to be a mason to own one, while being honest about the one step you do hire out: the chimney connection, which a certified professional handles.
